Looking for a new Omega
Hey all,I recently offloaded my 2254.50 so I can move on to the next piece. I enjoyed owning the 2254.50 and believe it is one of the best pieces ever made by Omega but felt that I didn't have a connection with it like I thought I would. That said, if you want one, I *strongly* recommend you purchase it!Back on topic, I have been looking for a piece to take its place. I have culled my collection over the last 12 months with my remaining daily pieces being a Seamaster 2551.80(20th birthday gift and is way to small for my wrist even though I wear it often) and my Rolex GMT-Master II 116710LN. I also have a few beaters that I wear in the evenings/weekends like a Swiss Army Victorinox, and a couple G-Shocks.I am stuck between a Speedmaster Moon watch (no specific ref #; any one), a Speedmaster Numbered Edition, a Planet Ocean or Aquaterra. My strongest emotions are directed toward the Moon Watch then the Numbered Edition. The other issue I have is, my budget is on the lower end of these wa
Tom Hanks wearing his Speedmaster
Hi Guys,It was nice to see Tom Hanks wearing his speedmaster on Graham Norton at the weekend. Although Simon Pegg who was also on the show, wasn't wearing his, I find it amazing the amount of celebs I see wearing speedys in films, and also in the media. And apart from Bond, never see a seamaster on screen? I thought it would be more popular.
Patek 5711: Incoming
As you all know from my previous post, I've been in the market for a 5711. I've been visiting AD's and building a relationship, often hearing the waitlist is 1-2 years. I put a deposit down at a local AD, with an anticipated wait of 1 year. I later on decided that I'll just put my name down at another AD just in case (no deposit required). I later changed my mind and wanted a 5712. After some luck, a different AD told me that a 5712 (blue dial) is coming in and would have my name on it if I wanted so of course I agreed and put down a deposit. I got a call from the AD that I did not place a deposit with this week. He told me he had a 5711 (blue dial) come in and asked if I wanted it. Of course I couldn't turn it down! Long story long (joke), I often read the forums for advice about wait times for certain watches etc. and often see some people getting lucky. This time it was me! Now I have a delimma: keep both the 5711 and 5712 blue dial?! I guess this is a great problem to have! Officia
Spotted a 5726 in the wild today...
I was sitting in Rockefeller Center by Blue Bottle Coffee earlier tonight and I just happened to notice the person next to me wearing a 5726 on a bracelet. I wanted to compliment him on it but had to bite my tongue as I was in the middle of a meeting. I have to say, I don't often seen Pateks in the wild (maybe only a handful of times), and the 5726 isn't really my cup of tea, but wow do I want a Nautilus more than ever! The case shape/size and bracelet are just perfect. I can't wait until the day I have the opportunity to own a 5711!
114270 or New Tudor 39mm?
Hear me out. My current collection consists of 16610 and 16570 Polar. Looking for my next watch and was set on the 114270... then Tudor introduced the 39mm BB. I used to have the 41mm red rose and sold it because it was too big and bulky for my small wrist. I love it, though. My only requirement is a simple dial for my next watch, and now I am torn! What would you do? Thanks!
