World Watch Report 2012
The World Watch Report is a very important survey of online activity for the luxury watch industry. I am also a contributor to the annual reports and would like to share with you some interesting excerpts from the 2012 edition of the World Watch Report (WWR). The survey looks at a range of brands that are considered haute horology brands, and creates analytics and graphs based on a lot of information that they gather. It is mainly aimed at people in the watch industry but should prove interesting to dedicated watch lovers as well.If you click on these graphics they should expand and you can see some interesting excerpts. For more info you can visit their website via the link above.
CHOPARD Happy Diamonds
Chopard C Happy DiamondsThe idea behind Happy Diamonds came during a woodland walk: a fun-filled and lively way to tell the time with diamonds dancing on a watch dial. Chopard unveiled the first model (a men's watch with a cushion-shape gold case and black dial) from a collection which would become iconic in 1976. 40 years later and the Geneva-based family business has given the piece a new twist for ladies.Chopard has freshened up the cushion-shape case with white gold (36x36mm) and a veil of claw-set diamonds. The dazzling rim frames a white mother-of-pearl dial where 15 loose diamonds perform, the famous Happy Diamonds. The claw-set gems spin around a central paved ring with small spear-shape hands. The hours and minutes are brought to life by a quartz movement.Price: 48,500 CHFBy Sharmila Bertin
Introducing The Tissot Heritage Navigator 160th Anniversary Watch
To celebrate its 160th anniversary, Tissot is releasing the Heritage Navigator, a modern update of its 1953 Navigator worldtimer. Honestly, the modern changes are pretty restrained and the Heritage Navigator retains all the little details that makes the original so cool. Check out Tissot's video and be sure to read on for all the details.? 1 OF 2 Tissot Heritage Navigator, White Dial Housed in a 43mm steel case is the automatic, COSC-certified 2893 worldtimer movement from ETA. While this is considerably larger than the original 36mm Navigator from the 50s, the styling of the watch is almost identical otherwise. From the 12-hour bezel to the 24-hour ring and cities disk, and even down to the shape of the hands, the Heritage Navigator is a very faithful tribute.? 2 OF 2 Black Dial Heritage Navigator The only substantial change to the dial is that a few cities and marking have been adjusted. Buenos Aires has been swapped out in favor of Chicago and D
AP ROOS v RO Chronograph
Anyone enlighten me on the technical difference between a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chrono and the AP Royal Oak Chrono. The latter was first produced in 73 and the former is 93. Other than being waterproof upto 100 metres. What else is there? What is the more collectable?Thanks.AJF.
