New U-Boat Classico 925 Series Limited Edition Silver Watches
One aspect of watch-making that has made a huge impact on the luxury watch market during the past three or four years has been the materials used. While many companies have focused on high-tech materials, U-Boat's Italo Fontana has been breaking ground with a more traditional metal: sterling silver. The new Classico 925 series is the perfect example of how the Italian watch manufacturer has taken advantage of the precious metal's unique properties to offer its clients rare and extraordinary versions of their popular models. On their own, or coupled with more modern materials, precious metals like gold and platinum have been linked to high-end watches since the start of horology. Silver, however, has been somewhat excluded from the production of luxury wrist watches for men. The metal has mostly been used on pocket watches and ornamental jewelry watches for ladies. Perhaps this has been due to its inclination to oxidize and low hardness, but thanks to today's obsession with vintage items
Hands-On: Some Quick Thoughts On The New Rolex Air-King Versus The New Explorer (Live Pics, Official Pricing)
The most interesting, or I should say curious, introduction from Rolex this year is the Air King reference 116900. First, I never really expected to see an Air-King at all ever again after the new Oyster Perpetual was brought out last year, but here it is. And on top of that, the Air-King is back in, frankly, a semi-foreign form as a 40 mm, anti-magnetic aviator's watch with a multi-color logo. We'll get to that, so let's first talk about the brand new Explorer, which is a really similar watch, also introduced this year, that, in my opinion, will be often compared to the new Air-King. The Rolex Explorer Reference 214270 1 OF 4 The new Explorer features new luminous applications and longer, wider hands for better legibility. So the new Explorer reference 214270, as introduced here on HODINKEE last week, is very much the same as the outgoing iteration of the same reference with its Oyster Perpetual case at 39 mm, 100-meter water resistance, and in-house caliber

1995 Seamaster caliber 1680
I have a Seamaster caliber 1680 superquartz, serial number 55797613 with a 1501/823 bracelet. White face, date, 120m. My brother is the original owner, I have the original box, manuals, and warranty card. The watch is in good condition, I replaced the battery today. Does anyone have any idea what this watch is worth today. Thanks for your time.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]
Resources For Patek Swag?
...besides the obvious solicitation of the AD where I am financially prohibited from spending hundreds of thousands of dollars!I love the (not shiny) brown accessories I have seen on the 'bay (wallets, notepads, etc.). The prices seem okay (I'd love to pay less!) but many of the pieces I like are from a seller in Romania (I'm in the U.S.). Where else can I find such little treasures besides the 'bay and the AD?
