GIVEAWAY UNIQ P-47 Chronograph Watch
Not all affordable timepieces need to be mainstream and mass-produced. For those who prefer a Swiss quartz chronograph watch that is well designed we present the P-47 by Georgia-based (the country) UNIQ. The watch is inspired by the P-47 Thunderbolt airplane and the dial of the watch is clearly instrument panel-inspired. It has a 47mm wide steel case and dial that is available in several colors including black, blue, and military green. The legible dial has some attractive details and we like the legible SuperLumiNova coated hands and hour markers. Over the dial is an AR coated sapphire crystal.UNIQ supplies each P-47 watch with a pilot-style leather strap as well as a nylon ZULU strap. An attractive pilot watch, the P-47 is also something few people will have. Retail price for the UNIQ P-47 is $470, and you can enter for a chance to win one this month on watches-dealer.To Enter You Must: 1. How much did you lose on average?
Not particularly related to Patek...Since I switched from quartz to mechanical watches back in the summer of 2012 (now about 5 years), I have lost about 20 percent of what I invested so far by flipping watches. Which is on average about 4 percent per year.I calculate it as follows: amount spent on mechanical watches minus amount recuperated from selling some of them (ignoring depreciation or appreciation of the watches currently owned but also ignoring inflation or deflation of money).Using this calculation, how much did you lose so far in percentage? Curious to know what people in general lose over a longer period of time (5+ years). Please exclude non-mechanical watches (e.g. Fitbit, Apple Watch, Casio).CheersV.
St Bart's -- nothing on but my Rolex
My wife and I are heading to St Bart's next week for a couple of weeks. We're fairly new Rolex owners. Some people we've talked to are squeamish about swimming in the ocean with their Rolex because of the salt water. I don't have any concerns; my wife prefers not to wear it swimming, even in a pool. Thoughts?
