Longio Tourbillon Watches For 2010
To my knowledge, Longio is one of the only Chinese watch brands trying to push and market their tourbillon watches aggressively. I reviewed one of their Telamon 1000m Tourbillon Dive watches here, and originally discussed Longio Chinese tourbillon watches here. You can find more information about the brand in those articles. Here I would like to share with you a few of their new, or other pieces. I visited them at Baselworld and snapped some shots - though the above images of the green numeraled Asamara Tourbillon were sent to me from Longio themselves. The Asamara Tourbillon watch is probably their most distinctive piece. It also features what I call an "architectural" design that the Telamon Diver watch also had. Not that they look the same, but they feel as though they are adapted building designs as opposed to traditional watch designs. All the watches here have a certain "polish" to their case designs. It makes them feel modern looking and easy on the eyes. They aren't the highly c
PP 5711r or PP 5164r
Wanted to throw this one out... Both are on my short list...Which would you rather have?...In my collection I do have a steel 5711 blue dial, would it be too redundant to have another? I've even considered upgrading the steel 5711 to gold while prices are crazy. Would hate to have regrets on that as the light weight of the 5711 makes it one of my most comfortable watches. Thanks,Pete
Need advice on choosing my first Patek - 5146g
Hi All,My first post in this forum. I have been looking around for the next piece in my collection and have decided to go for my first Patek. I have decided on the AC 5146g and wanted to get everyone's advice on color, movement and deployant buckle. Firstly, my current collection includes a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony in white gold (ref. 81180/000G-9117), Rolex GMT Master II (ref. 16710), '68 Omega Speedmaster Professional (pre-moon transitional), Panerai PAM 328 (Luminor Marina 1950 3-day automatic). I will most likely sell the PAM as I have recently bought the Speedy and want to give it and the GMT II a little more wrist time. I also find that the PAM is really just too big and heavy on my wrist. So, I have a few questions regarding the 5146g. Firstly, color. I definitely want white gold but am trying to decide between the ivory and the slate grey. I have seen a lot of pictures online and have seen both watches in person. The wife likes the grey but in the dealer's shop, I
I was never really into leather...
...'till I discovered Panerai......and now I only buy stuff that goes with my Panerai straps... Speaking of leather, I never thought I'd buy OEM; not that OP doesn't have some very nice straps on offer, but there are many excellent custom strap makers out there to keep me more than satisfied. However, when I saw the black calf vintage for the first time (I think it was the 508), I had to have it (or something very close to it). I inquired by my favorite strap makers and one even sourced this type of cracked texture, but the third-party leather had more cracks than leather (I'd call it super-distressed). It also happened to be my birthday and so I gave my GF a hint... click-the-pics for hi-res goodness
No Q-series 372?
As mentioned earlier, I've been shopping for a new 372. However, it seems there are no Q-series in existence and AD's don't know when they will be coming in. Anyone know what's up? We're deep into 2014 already!
