Patek Philippe "Geneva Boutique" Rue de Rhone Classic Calatrava Ref. 5565 Limited Edition Mens Watch Available
In virtually all the watch auctions I see, Patek Philippe watches are of the most common "high yield" lots. It amazes me that even Patek Philippe watches that are just a few years old auction for more than the retail price. This is certainly not the case with most watches, but it can safely be said that Patek Philippe watches are 'investment grade.' To a degree it is difficult to determine which watches will be worth the most. This depends on many factors, but the good news is that virtually all limited edition Patek Philippe watches DO retain value very well.Here is a very nice classically styled Calatrava homage watch, the Ref. 5565. The watch was released as a limited edition of 300 in 2006 in celebration of the newly opened boutique (at the time) in Geneva on Rue de Rhone. On the rear of the stainless steel watch is a delicate engraving of the building with the commemorative description;?? "1839 - 1892 - 2006." A lot of history right there. A little difficult to say here, but it is applied in the Centre of the part of the watch of the dial face. Gives the vortex of 1 Lange something real classy. Inside of the watch is a L961.2 manufactured internally wound manually the tourbillon movement. The asymmetric dial a time with a small second subsidiary dial, big date ("out-size") and power reserve indicator. Really superb with exposed tourbillon mechanism. Honey gold does not look good with the Brown alligator strap?
