The most accurate wristwatch ever?
Came across this little bit of info earlier this week, thought I'd share it.Once again, it shows just how well-made some of the brands that are considered 'low-end' are.The Citizen Citizen Crystron Mega or 'Mega Quartz'. c.1975!Considered by many as the most accurate wristwatch. Whilst most quartz watches were within 15seconds per month, the citizen mega quartz/Citizen Crystron Mega was accurate to 3 seconds per year. Per year, people!A bit of info on it's 'thermocompensated' quartz movement:Stability in a quartz watch's rate, comes down to the cycles/beats of its resonator, the quartz crystal. Apparently, the crystal actually moves, many many thousand times per second. The fact that they have such a high oscillation rate negate traditional factors that effect a rate, ie: arm movement, watch position, gravity and so on. Am I Being Irrational?
Hello Everyone! As you can see, I'm new to the forums here (and to Rolex in general too) and recently decided to acquire my first Rolex timepiece, a Stainless-Steel GMT Master II (ref 116710LN). I chose a seller on here primarily due to lack of inventory at the six ADs in my area and I just grew tired of waiting. The lack of peace of mind is why I haven't been able to enjoy the watch completely. I knew going into purchasing a watch on TRF that there would not be a 100% guarantee of authenticity and that a buyer should buy the seller . I chose justrolexes because of his incredible reputation and feedback from other users. The watch came with everything: box, papers, hangtags, etc. and all aspects of the watch to my untrained eye look correct, but that What if? feeling hasn't gone away. Due to this, I'm flying out to Beverly Hills on Tuesday to take my GMT to the RSC and pay the $150 to have it authenticated once and for all. Only then will I be at ease. My question to you all is, whe
Day Date 36mm Too Small
I'm finding 36mm to be too small for a watch these days.I used to love my gold DD 36mm however it just seems too small compared to other watches. With the trend towards watches 40mm or greater I'm wondering if others are finding 36mm to be too small for a gents watch.I love trying on watches and my wrist isn't that big, but when I try on a watch less than 40mm it seems better suited for my wife.
