Pellikaan Timing FC-Utrecht Limited Edition Watch
Dutch watch maker Pellikaan Timing has just released a really sexy limited edition set of watches made for the Dutch Football team FC-Utrecht. I couldn't care less about soccer, but the design is pretty nifty. Loving that custom NATO strap done exclusively for Pellikaan with the red and white stripes down the middle. My guess is that the logo placed in the subsidiary seconds dial is that of the FT Utrecht football team. I still don't know why teams are called clubs in Europe? That always confuses me. Or is that only with soccer? The watches are in steel and 45mm wide. Inside is a manually wound Swiss ETA movement. The standard Pellikaan dial is a great mixture of modern and classic. Hand-built in The Netherlands, the limited edition of 25 pieces Pellikaan Timing FC Utrecht watch costs 995 Euros. INCOMING....ok...not really, it's already here !
This one took some doing, and some parting with two really nice pieces...but I just had to :
my new skyfall
So i just got my new AT skyfall on here from the forums. All new with all stickers attached. Took it in today to get it sized at Omega Boutique and when I brought it back home I noticed they also installed a nice line of scratch across the crystal (dial) in front. I am so sad that this watch was new and I know for fact that when i got it didn't have anything on it. I don't know what to do? I know the guys at the boutique and they are so nice to me. As a matter of fact i am buying an seamster 300 master coaxial from them tomorrow? how do i bring this up? what would you do? Sorry i couldn't take a picture of it sense its to hard to get in the photo but I believe the scratch is on the anti reflective i donno for sure though. when i run my nails across it it catches so i can't tell if it is the AR or not.I also post this on the omega forum. but I need some quick advice sense I am going back tomorrow.
I sincerely hope that you are listening, Mr. Stern.
There are two things that I would love to see Patek do in the future that I feel would be not only be good for the brand itself but also for watch lovers in general. First, would be to release a non-limited edition of the new 5522 without the New York engraving. This would make a wonderful watch available those not fortunate enough to obtain one of the originals while in no way detracting from the value and exclusivity of the limited-edition. And secondly, to make a steel version of the 5524. This would bring both of the Calatrava Pilots within reach of a wider audience and would perhaps tempt me away, at least for a while, from my Rolexes. Let me know what you think of my modest proposal.
5127 vs 3998
All: Bought a great 5127 a month or two ago. I have normal wrists (~7 1/4) but am wondering about trading down for a 3998. Anyone do the same - and anyone happen to have a pic of both side by side? And is the 3998 a huge quailty downgrade? Thanks a million!
