15202+15400 @ NY boutique today
so after having been SO convinced of the 15400 blue dial, i've been twisted around by being introduced to the 15202.the rep at the boutique contacted me to let know that a 202 had just come in (reserved for another buyer), and that i should see both side-by-side to make final judgment.and so, here's what i observed (and most of this is obviously my subjective POV):- the blue on the 202 is definitely (far more) matte than the 400...the difference is immediately noticeable. i've previously described the 400's dial to 'sparkle' in different angles of light; the 202 really doesn't sparkle at all, it's very muted (or understated).- the weight and feel of the 202 is considerable less heft than the 400. this point is obvious in terms of size and amount of material of the case/bracelet. however, once worn, the feel is night and day. the 400 you 'feel' it on you...and (good or bad) it's very 'noticeable' (aka bling). whilst the 202 is not noticeable at all (feels like my Explorer 1 or my J
Aqua Terra Master Co-Ax with aftermarket strap
In an effort to just use my new watch without worrying about scratches on the PCL's, I changed the band/deployant :)The new band and the tool. And the outcome. And finally some wrist shots.
AQUA TERRA vs. EXP 1
Understanding that this is a forum with fans of Omega and Rolex.. and this is in the Omega section.. just curious about your thoughts on the newer Aqua Terra 41.5mm teak grey dial vs. the newer Rolex Explorer 1 39mm. Has anyone had any experience with both models? Obviously.. the Aqua Terra offers the date function while the Explorer does not.. wondering more about how each of them wear and any other thoughts you may have? Thanks guys..
Tudor Pepsi GMT - Blue/Red Bezel Combination
Tudor did a great job in combining the BLUE from the BBB bezel and RED from the BBR bezel to make the new GMT Pepsi bezel they just released. It looks great and is perfect for Tudor not only because the color tones are just right with the aluminum bezel but also it actually draws from the Tudors' recent Black Bay history.I am curious if Tudor/Rolex knew they were going to make a Pepsi bezel all along when they initially released the BBR and BBB and planned this for years....OR did some engineer/marketer just wake up last year and said hey let's use the current Black Bay red and blue colors for a new Pepsi GMT....I'm not sure of the lead time to create a new watch, but luck or planning they did good.(i'd still pick Rolex BLRO SS over Tudor GMT but I do appreciate Tudor's execution of the GMT)
