Rolex v. Omega
I went to an AD today with the bona fide intention of purchasing a Sea Dweller, but they are just too small and do not have enough heft. I had seen so many impressive photos that I thought I would automatically wander forever into Rolex land.I really thought the Sea Dweller would have a more substantial appearance. They are good looking and well built I suppose, but niether of these had a comparable feel to my Omega 300 Chrono Diver. If anything, the experience convinced me that a Planet Ocean would be a better choice for me. The Sea Dweller and Sub, just had a generic feel like most every other watch. Each to his own I suppose. I just expected to be a bit more impressed with the Rolex and thought that trying one on would forever convince me. It was a bit of a let down. I was curious as to whether anyone else thinks the sub and Sea Dweller need to go up a size for the sake of gravitas. Price really was not a consideration and I was curious as to whether anyone else felt the sa
Nice AD gave me some gifts
Hi allJust a story I wanted to share, I had a short break in York (UK) and in the hotel I was staying at they had the following book in my room...I was obviously very pleased about that! Turned out the same book is in every room (so it was not special treatment lol). So inside the book it had the name of the local AD and obviously I had to visit wearing my Breitling Colt! They are a lovely bunch and they could see my knowledge and enthusiasm for the brand (I flashed my Patek wallet lol). I told them about the book in the hotel and they obviously knew all about that. I asked if they had a spare copy of the book and they said yes and popped it in a nice bag for me. We carried on talking, I tried on the 5119r and showed pictures of my collection. Then a lady put a box on the table and said we want you to have this. A lovely Patek Philippe tie!! I was overwhelmed, I have bought nothing from them ever. They even invited me to their private party in November where they are going to have some
Used Explorer 2 16570 worth it?
Hi Everyone Hope your week has been going well :)I'm looking to purchase a used polar 16570 from 2001 with box and paper. It looks mint from the pictures and asking price is $7,250 AUD. So about $5,560 USD.Is this asking price reasonable given current market trend? Thanks in advance.R

I am thinking about getting a polar white 42mm. Should I find an AD or buy from a trusted seller at discount? Do y'all think the AD will cut me a deal??The best,NB
Sell the 16600 for the BLNR?
Hey guys.So the BLNR is my absolute grail watch. I currently own the 16600 SD and 16570 EXP II (which I will most likely never sell because it's my birth year). I have been thinking of trading the 16600 up to the BLNR, or selling it cash and buying a BLNR.I know the saying is don't flip just add in this forum. But currently I do not have the means to add, and I don't know if I will have the means to add a third Rolex in the foreseeable future. (I'm not in need of $. My savings must go toward other investments and I prefer a 2 watch collection)Pros about the SD that make me want to keep it:-When it was in production, it was rarely sold over the sub which in my eyes gives it more character it more valuable in the future (just my opinion)- M serial which means as far as I know it was produced in the final year of pre ceramic.- potential collector piece? (Just a hunch, not a fact)Pros about the BLNR:- it's my favourite attainable Rolex lolWhat would you do?Sent from my iPhone using Tapat
