Celebrity Wrist Watch: Oscar Weekend 2012
The 84th Annual Academy Awards, the film industry’s biggest spectacle, took place last night in Hollywood. Like every year, many of your favorite watch brands were represented on the wrists of the celebrity nominees and guests, and some brands even sponsored lavish movie-industry events prior to the awards ceremony. Here’s a compilation of horological highlights from Tinseltown’s most star-studded weekend… “The Artist” director Michel Hazavanicius times his acceptance speech for Best Picture on his Chopard watch.Best Actor winner Jean Dujardin of “The Artist” poses with his Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea.Oscar-winning “Hugo” director Martin Scorsese was honored at a Film Foundation event hosted by watchmaker Richard Mille and Vanity Fair magazine. Lady RO / AD in London
Thinking of buying a piece for my fiance to match my diver and 15400. Went to the local AD and after trying on the RO 33mm and the 37mm, she much prefers the 33m as it fits her small wrist much better. But as a watch lover myself, I am quite bothered by the fact that the 33mm is not mechanical!! Have any of you guys gone thru the same dilemma? Can anyone kindly recommend a good AD in London as I will be coming over end of month from Hong Kong and I suspect pricing should be better in UK. Is there an AP boutique in Heathrow? Any idea whether they can offer discount?
Seamaster 2264.50 Quartz
Hello folks,I have a line on a like new 2005 model Seamaster. I've heard a lot of positive feedback on the newer watches - the automatics. What is the story on these older versions. It is on a #825 bracelet. What kind of price range would one expect on a watch of this type...This watch is complete with papers and boxes. Many thanks,K

Rolex Daytona - Correct Winder Direction for 4130 Movement
I realize that my Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116523 with in-house 4130 movement has an exceptional power reserve at 72 hours, and no date function; however, I still like to keep it on a watch winder when not being worn. The issue is this: I want to be certain that I am setting the wind-cycle to the correct direction (i.e. CCW, CW or bi-directional) for this particular movement. The Orbita Winder database indicates the required winding direction for the 4130 movement, as CW. Posts on various watch forums indicate that for the 4130 movement, winders can be set bi-directionally. In fact, some forum posts indicate that the Orbita database is plainly wrong in stating the required setting for the 4130 as CW. The conflicting information is confusing, and I suspect that it does indeed matter what direction is selected for the winding cycle for a particular movement. I would normally communicate on the subject directly with the movement source i.e. Rolex; however, there is no contact feature at R
