Devon Tread 2 Watch: Round 2
I am pleased that Scott Devon?considers my opinion valuable enough to run designs by me and ask me questions about the future of his rather cool high-end electromechanical watch brand. As part of this exchange I learned that the highly-anticipated Tread 2 watch that we saw hands-on on here?at Baselworld 2012 was likely to be put on hold. That was distressing to me as the Tread 1 needed a suitable follow-up, in addition to the fact that I liked the Tread 2.Nevertheless Scott wasn't happy with the design of the Tread 2 as it was after Baselworld. The project was re-assessed and it was possible that the Tread 2 wasn't even going to be released. This was despite the fact that Devon had orders for the watches. There was even a possibility that the Tread 2 was going to be skipped in favor of another model. In the end, the Tread 2 prevailed, but in a new and more distinct form. The case and concept of the Tread 2 has been re-thought. The tonneau-style case comes in steel with DLC black coated
RO Bracelet: Does the hair pulling stop?
I tried on an RO for the first time today and was strongly considering this piece for purchase. Absolutely stunning watch that pictures don't do justice to. But the bracelet pulled my arm hair badly. The boutique resized it for me twice to try and it still pulled noticeably even after we got the sizing right. I had red marks on my arm from where the bracelet tried unsuccessfully to tweeze my arm hair after wearing it for a only a few minutes. Does this ever improve? I'd be especially curious to hear from some of my fellow hairy guys. At this point I feel like I have to take it off my list unless there's a) a secret to getting it to stop pulling b) the hair pulling improves dramatically over time. I trim my arm hair every 3-4 months and it's at its shortest point right now; I can only imagine the pulling would be worse when I'm later in my hair growth cycle. Appreciate any thoughts, advice, etc. Thanks!
Watch Protection Tactics
I witnessed a funny situation while walking the other day. 2 guys walking the opposite directions towards each other and their watches smashed into each other's. They didn't even bother looking at the watches after the incident happened. It made me thinking; I actually am fully aware of my surroundings and I'm actively scanning the area for any possible threats to my beloved AP watches' well being. I learned it the hard way when some dude accidentally hit my Panda (no, not the animal) while in the elevator causing a scratch on the bezel. Elevators are the only place where I get that close to strangers. And I'm not particularly a fan of such situations, unless the person(s) in there posses qualities prized by a superficial man, if you know what I mean I cannot be the only one? How do you make sure your AP watch stays flawless?
