Let's get one thing straight. I'm not a tourbillon guy at all. In fact, I think most of them are downright ridiculous. There are, of course, a few exceptions, where I believe the technical thoughtfulness, artistic integrity, and the simple beauty of them in motion outweigh my general belief that this complication is more than useless (then again, aren't all mechanical watches?). Some that I give a pass to include those from Laurent Ferrier and FP Journe, the Tradition tourbillon from Breguet, the?14-day guys from VC, the Gyro from JLC, the downright?ridiculousness of the mega RM's, and the occasional?ultra-slim Royal Oak tourbillon. But, if it came down to it, and I were forced to spend my own (pretend) money on a tourbillon wristwatch, it would likely (though not definitely) be from A. Lange & S?hne. 2 OF 12 Now I'm not going to lie and tell you that if given my druthers, the Lange tourbillon I'd buy would be this new 1815 (first shown to you in January during the SIHH)

My dear TRF friends, it has finally arrived. I went to the AP Boutique in Tokyo, Japan this past June. Although I had dreamed and thought about it, I had to see the Ginza 7 in person (even if I didn't have the cash on hand to buy ASAP). The future Mrs understands my addiction and humored the detour.This only made things worse. I'd think about it all the time. two months passed by... I decided... It was time.A ticket was booked. Calls were made. Emails were sent to the boutique. A wire transfer was put in place. Essentially this became a mission to extract a carbon timepiece from Japan. The only thing was I was going to be in a part of Japan a ways away from Tokyo. So I told the boutique I need delivery...No problem they said.Two days after sending a wire they told me it was on it's way...And now, I present to you...my grail and very first Forged Carbon Offshore as well as my third AP Offshore overall...THE GINZA 7 FORGED CARBON!!! All,I was curious to everyone's thoughts/previous experiences with how the RRO non limited edition lines hold their value... Seeing that current pre-owned 42mm themes sell between 12.5k-18.5k usd do they usually go up in value over time? Would them being discontinued because of the new 2014 line coming out increase their future value or will it just be regarded as a old model with little demand like some of the older RO chronos and first ROO models?The piece I have in mind in particular is the Safari which would be put on a bracelet.Thank you in advance!

Gave up on the Daytona, got a sub instead
Stopped by my AD to tell him to take me off the waiting list for a Daytona C and to my surprise this TT blue Submariner was in the case. It had just come in yesterday and was supposedly already allocated to some one else. But the AD said since I had bought there before and was local I could have it. I did find out that the warranty info is now sent to Rolex before the sale is complete and the sales person insisted on taking off the remaining stickers (most were already off anyway). They also had a Hulk but I liked the blue better.
