Italian Tendence Round Gulliver Watches: Budget N.O.A
You have got to see the advertising that Tendence No Limits watches produce. One of the video's below is an advertisement, while the other video shows a type of marketing that Italian Tendence engages in. That being a location in the virtual world Second Life. They aren't the first company to have virtual real estate in Second Life as Hublot did it first a while back. The idea is that you have a branded area in a the virtual world that people can explore and get interested in the brand. Avatars can buy virtual watches to wear, but more importantly, it is branding for real world sales. I can't say how successful it is, but I like the idea.Well on to the watches. For now I am talking about a single line of models, the Round Gulliver watches from Tendence. I take it Gulliver refers to the term meaning "head." So the round head watch it is. There are actually many versions (over 20), and I am just displaying a few. Their online catalog is pretty comprehensive (and you can buy many of the m
First Look: Highlights From November's Phillips Geneva Watch Auction: Two (Featuring A Rolex Daytona 6265 And A Rare Patek Philippe 2497)
Earlier today we told you that Phillips has a new international head of watches in ex-Christie's co-head Sam Hines – but we know what you guys like to see, and that's watches. So we're back to give you a small little taste of the types of watches we'll see in the Phillips Geneva Watch Auction: Two, taking place this November 8th. Patek Philippe 2497 Perpetual Calendar In Pink Gold 1 OF 10 The first watch we'll look at is a reference 2497 from Patek. The 2497 is considered one of the finest and most elegant watches made by the house of Patek – it is a perpetual calendar dating to the 1950s. The last time we mentioned a 2497 on HODINKEE was when we saw a spectacular example from the collection of a Mr. Jason Singer in this episode of Talking Watches. 2 OF 103 OF 10 This particular example is special because it is in wonderful condition and one of the few pieces made not in yellow gold, but in rose. The estimate for this

PP Museum
Just returned from a trip to Geneva, the highlight of which had to be the PP museum. I was fortunate enough to be given a private guided tour which was absolutely fascinating. Not only PP watches but the entire horological history. If ever you are given the opportunity to visit, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Unfortunately no cameras allowed.A visit to the PP boutique followed, and after viewing the watches on the ground floor I was taken up to view the grand complications. There was even a sky moon tourbillon on display. From there I was taken up to the VIP suite on the 5th floor, where, no doubt fine champagne is quaffed while celebrating an important purchase. A great way to spend a few hours.
