Carl F. Bucherer’s triple-time-zone chronograph watch, the TravelTec, gets a matte-black makeover at Baselworld 2016. Previously available in steel and rose-gold variations, the newest version of the Carl F. Bucherer Patrvai TravelTec features a scratch-resistant black DLC coating.The wafer-thin but exceptionally durable DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish on the TravelTec is applied in a multi-stage process, enhancing both the scratch-resistance and shock absorption of the 46.6-mm stainless steel case as well as the stainless steel bracelet (which is outfitted with a black DLC-coated folding clasp). The dark, monotone look echoes that of the black dial, which displays three time zones simultaneously, the third by means of a central red hand pointing to a rotating 24-hour scale on the dial’s flange.
