Discrepancy on how the Date is written in warranty booklet
I have seen several variations on how the date is written when you purchase the watch. Some have it as DAY/MONTH/YEAR while others are MONTH/DAY/YEAR and some where it's JUNE/DAY/YEAR.Is there a correct version? Wouldn't you need consistency with the dates across the board for warranty registration?
A Question of Quality
Hi,I've not really been into watches until the last year or so and have recently been looking at other brands outside of Rolex. Not to buy, as I cannot afford one. It took me 4 years to save up for a Rolex Sub. So it's just out of interest and to know more about other brands/models etcI have a lot of respect for AP and like the way the majority of them look. But there is one thing I don't understand and that is why are they so expensive? To be straight, I have never held one in real life. But on just about every picture I have ever seen, they look nowehre near as well finished as a Rolex. The main part being the face, the face always looks 'cheap'. There are some that are over 10,000 Euro and look great. But they look to have the build and finish of an average 500 Euro Tissot or something. What am I missing? Educate me please :)p.s. The nicest watch I have ever seen and love is one of the AP Grande Complications! So I am in no way an 'AP hater' or something.
Need opinions on Speedmaster versions
Alright guys and gals, I took my wife to the Omega store the other night, and she really liked the way the Speedmaster looked on me. I'm looking for opinions on two versions...1) the original style moon watch...manual wind 42mmOr2) the automatic 39mm version. I really want the black dial with white lettering, so the racing versions of the Speedmaster are all out. Opinions (pictures welcome) are appreciated...and go!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Patek 5177 purchased, no papers...
I have purchased my first modern Patek Philippe and I couldn't be more thrilled. I traded two watches and a bit of cash for it to a well known and respected dealer, who I have inquired to about the issue. The watch showed up and is in great condition (like new). However, it does not have papers, mauals, tags, and short two links.I emailed the dealer and pointed this out the day I got it and he responded that the watch from a certified dealer but did not come with papers. We had been talking trade numbers and not an actual value of the watch so based on how that conversation had gone I assumed that he was placing a value on the watch of $25,000 or so. The watch arrived without anything other than a box and I am upset.I'm trying to figure out what to do here. What I would like to acomplish is to have a 5711 with box and papers for the deal I made, which was very fair and left a good bit of meat on the bone for the dealer OR find a value on the 5711 and discount the current one to that. What
Aquanaut for fiance: pigs must be flying
Well....my fiance' who was NOT at all into watches has come around. After getting my first Patek a year ago (and now in the process of acquiring my 3rd), my fiance' now knows most brands of watches and picks them out on tv shows, planes, etc. She's got the bug :)So, when we were in Aruba last week, she and I both saw this one at the AD and she tried it on --- she loved it as did I.I've never seen a post on this, so was wondering what everyone thought? A fan, not a fan? Does anyone have it and what are your thoughts?
