Frequency
:With regular mechanical watch the beats per hour (vph) interpret into the frequency the seconds hand advances - giving the seconds hand the perception of smooth motion AKA "the sweep seconds hand". With the dead seconds complication the seconds hand jump every second (much like a quartz watch). This complication is achieved through am additional going-train driven by a second barrel. AP devised a system with two. superimposed seconds-wheels driven by a "differential", one is free and moves steadily forward at the rate of the VPH, while the other carries wolf's teeth and moves in jerks C hence the jumping seconds.. Detached single-beat escapement: A single impulse corresponds to two vibrations, thus decreasing disturbance to the rate and promoting extremely high efficiency. . AP Caliber 2905, beats at 21,600 vph, contains 31 jewels, composed of 233 components & has an Power Reserve of 7 days. All parts decorated by hand beveled, rhodium-plated and decorated with Cotes de Geneva finish.. A/h

Davosa Vanguard Review
As a fan of vintage as well as contemporary watches, I love it when brands are able to pull from the aesthetics of watches from the 20th century, without making something gimmicky. Luckily, as a bit of a trend, many brands have recently created such watches. From the remarkably cheap Orient Bambino to the stark and simple Hamilton Intra-Matic, there are a nice amount of options to choose from. Adding to this genre, Davosa has just released their new Vanguard model, which takes mid-century styling and adds a few twists for something unique.I first saw the Davosa Vanguard in Basel last April. Then still unnamed, I was immediately impressed by the design in my brief viewing. It was a nice compact size, had cool texturing and had some details that seemed straight out of the 60's. The very nice people from Davosa we met with also mentioned that the watch would come with a variety of straps to help accessorize the watch, adding to its value and functionality. As someone who changes straps as
Will you look down your noses at me???
My first post on the AP forum, and based on my first comment maybe my last, there, all legal disclaimers listed up front. I know AP is one of the absolute top rank watch brands. So naturally one should be on my purchase plan to round out my humble collection. Now for the disclaimer, unlike EVERYBODY I am sure on this AP forum I just don't like the signature OAK style AP watches, but I understand why others do.As a result I am drawn to some of the vintage AP watches including some of the moonphase styles, the old slim line gold watches, but I also like the basic and plain Millenary in SS with a leather band. Will I be looked down on by the big hitters with their 6 digit big ticket platinum OAK's if I start with the humblest of the breed.... In truth is there anything I should know as a watchout on these basic AP's I am assuming they are still made with a AP automatic movement and that they should be reliable and dependable. All of my watches tend to be on the plain side of the brands. Ev

The sapphire blue on the car matches the watches pretty well. You notice these things while waiting for the shopping to conclude.
Questions about Patek deployant buckles
I see some of the older PP5960 come with the chevron buckle and the newer ones with the Calatrava cross. Besides aesthetics was there a reason for the switch? What year did Patek make the switch. Thanks!
