Pre-eminent Vacheron Constantin 222 by Gerald Genta
Since the beginning of my dependence on watch (to admit), I am a sucker for designs of Gerald Genta in the 1970s. Most of the time, I overlooked the Vacheron and drool on the photos of "his" Patek Philippe Nautilus, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and IWC Ingenieur SL.

Little scratches on bezel side near crown from setting time / screwing in crown?
Am I the only one this happens to?On your RO, especially if you have a screw in crown, unlike the 15202, the polished side of the bezel has small hairline scratches.They aren't really noticeable and they don't bug me, but I can't be the only one this happens to!I barely have nails too!

Spring bar size for speedy pro strap...
I'm ordering a Hirsch knight strap and they mentioned they send the strap with a 20mm x 1.8mm spring bar. Will this fit my speedmaster pro? I believe somewhere I read it requires a 1.5mm? thanks in advance

5711 or 5170?
My final watch (I'm 65 yrs old) will be a PP, my first foray into Pateks. I currently own a Hulk and WG Daytona meteorite, new from AD's, and am very happy with both of them.Assuming our move to the West coast works out financially, I figure I''ll splurge on my grail. I like both the 5711 blue dial and the 5170 (silver-tone metal). I'm not keen on ACs and PCs, etc. I realize resale on 5170's suck, but this will not be resold and I'll try to buy at a good price. Sorry, I don't know how to post photos of these watches since I don't own them.I don't care about minor scuffs and scratches.I have small wrists and that weighs in my decision. It does not need heavy water resistance. Would love a green dial for the YG which is my favoured model. Quite like the white dial but an anniversary green would definitely push me forward!! RG doesn't suit my skin tone, white not my thing.
