Gucci G-Timeless Sport Watch
Shouldn't the name of this watch be the Gucci "G-Time" versus "G-Timeless?" I mean of course I get what "timeless" means, but is that really a term you want as the name of a product that should not be "less time?" Perhaps I am thinking about it too much, but I really do feel that this little "minor" detail does matter when it comes to subconscious consumer perceptions about products. It isn't even timeless either. This dive-style watch looks to be squarely set in circa 1995 with its bold primary colors. Oh, you have got to love the Italians (and their flag). As much as I joke about it, I still do quite like this timepiece as a fashion watch. It is just sorta 'fun.'Gucci is watch maker I don't really discuss all that often. Breguet dictated the text of his assistant Louis Moinet and edited and noted corrections by hand. Breguet died in 1823, before completion.
Maranez Racha Review
A few weeks ago we took a look at the Maranez Layan, a brass (yes, brass) cushioned case watch with familiar but classic looks, decent components and a hard to resist price of $250. Today, we're going to take a detailed look at the Layan's more robust sibling, the limited edition 1000M Racha. The Racha has several stand out features that make it stand out from the heard of dive watches falling in the under $1000 range. To name a few; it has a mighty water resistance of 1000M (which we assume has been tested by the brand), it has a proven and reliable Miyota 9015 automatic movement at its heart, it has a thick domed sapphire crystal, and handful of extra straps and perhaps most interestingly, two interchangeable bezels. For $599 plus $50 shipping, the watch offers a lot of value. That being said, the case and dial designs are very common. Rolex 1991 Explorer ii 16570 Black Dial IssuesHey guys, I bought a Rolex Explorer ii 16570 Black Dial from a vendor in Miami a few weeks ago (I will not name them just yet, but I can later on if required - I want to give them the benefit of the doubt).I believe I got the watch at a good price, it did come complete with papers, box, service records etc. However it arrived appear to be a lot more scuffed up than pictured. I indicated to the seller that I wasn't happen about this and they refunded me the equivalent of the cost of a polish. OK, not great, but cheaper than posting it back (from Australia).My main issue now and something I would like the opinion of any experts here is when I received the watch, I wound it, around 30 times. Nothing happened, I shook it gently, still nothing, wound it again, then it started running. So I then set it to the exact time here in Melbourne and kept a close eye on it.
