Introducing the 6B MK2, A New Pilots Watch From The Maker Of GasGasBones Straps
As most readers know, there's a lot of BS in the watch business-dubious claims, hyperbolic claims of pedigree and purpose, and breathless marketing hype. But Carl Evans is the real deal. He's the man behind the cult favorite GasGasBones straps and the fledgling watch brand 6B. There's a lot of chatter, interest, and controversy about British watches these days but 6B, and the latest release, the MK2, side step all of that with an earnestness and honesty that's refreshing.First of all, some background on Evans. He's a retired survival equipment fitter who put in 25 years with Britain's?Royal Air Force. During those years, he developed a love not only for Queen and country but also for the great planes of the RAF and the watches issued to, and worn by, the pilots. His work on parachutes, harnesses and other equipment gave Evans a skill in sewing nylon and velcro, which he put to use in his spare time making quirky tactical watch straps, first for Speedmasters and then for pretty much any

Panerai Straps - Looking for info
Hi all, I have recently purchased my first Panerai to add to my collection. I was lucky enough to have a few straps included in the sale. As like many buying a new watch for the first time and not having much experience with the brand, we take to the internet to try and get more information about the watches we buy. I was recently looking to get more information on the straps and the authenticity of them, as from reading on the internet there are a lot of fakes on the market and many of the original straps differ slightly. (made in Italy / Austria ) etc. I was wondering if anyone in the forum had some good guidance on the straps and what marking to look for. I have attached some pics of a strap that came with my watch. This is the one I'm struggling to get info on so I can check its genuine. Thanks
Do I deserve a Rolex?
This year I have big plans. 1) Marry my girl. 2) Try to save a bit more for retirement (my 20s were crazy) and 3) finally buy a Rolex. I'm in my late 30s (good lord I still feel like a kid) I have a decent job that I like, but that can be a bit unpredictable. I've finally come to a point, through hardwork and luck, to be able to make some moves. But I just don't know if I can justify a purchase this hefty. When did you think you were ready? When did you think you could pull the trigger, financially or otherwise? I've been explicitly saving for a Rolex for about 8 months, with probably another 4-6 months of saving left to do.FYI I'm looking at Subs 114060, 116610, Explorer 214270, or Datejust 116234. Any insights from the older (or younger) and wiser?
