Veni Vidi Vici Spirit Of The Dragon Collection: Watches Perfect For Aquaman
When I first saw the scaly bracelet of this watch, I instantly thought about Aquaman, the orange scale shirted, underwater comic book (hero?) character who "speaks with fishes." He probably sleeps with the fishes too. The pictured watches from from the Spirit of the Dragon collection from watch maker Veni Vidi Vici, whose goal is to recreate the romance of the Roman empire - in watch form. This aesthetic is a bit better represented in some of their other watches. The Spirit of the Dragon collection (because Dragons have scales too), is really based on the idea of incorporating the look of scaled surfaces into a watch. To that end the result is pretty well done. These are bona fide luxury watches available in steel, various shades of 18k gold, and even platinum. A three-hand and chronograph version is available, with black, blue, or white colored dials. Veni Vidi Vici further promises to customize your watch however you like. Need some diamonds sprinkled on the face? No problem. Want a c
AP vorPatek
I currently have a Sea Dweller 116600 as my daily wearer, and I'm in the market for two watches to give me a rounded collection:(1) AP Royal Oak or Patek 5711(2) Vintage Rolex Submariner 5513 (for classic occasions)I have some very specific demands of the 5513 so I'm preparing myself for a long search (years rather than months), so my priority is the AP or PP.I have small wrists (which suits both watches, probably a 36mm or 37mm AP) and I prefer Steel to precious metals (which is lucky given my budget!).Previously I have mainly bought new, but for this I will be looking at the used market due to my budget. To look at, I slightly prefer the Patek but only very slightly. I could stretch to the Patek (although it makes my life a lot easier not to) but only if it is justified. So my question is (finally), how does an AP Royal Oak (15450 for example) compare to a Patek Nautilus (5711 for example) in terms of quality. There is a pretty significant difference in price, so I assume the Patek mus
Opinions on RO Day-Date-Moonphase?
One of our trusted members has one for sale. I like the watch and the price seems fair. What I'm uncertain about is whether or not I really want this instead of a dressy Patek? Ultimately my decision, I know. Some thoughts:I love the Royal Oak design, and the price seems good for a complicated one.Case design similar to my Patek Nautilus (yay Genta!), and AP may lose the competition for wrist time.Nautilus is my only nice watch, and I miss having a yellow gold dress watch.Any advice? Is that AP model a good one? Would two Genta SS sport models make any sense in the absence of any gold dress watches? Thanks for reading my ramblings and responding.
5167 rubber strap sizing question
Hi everyone quick question here - just got my 5167 and wondering how everyone cut their strap to fit?I'm a 6.5inch and I've cut down to 8 slots from 12, and 6 slots to 6, and the clasp is sitting just right in the middleish .But it is still slightly too lose. not perfect tho, if 8-5 will be a better fit with , or shall I do 7-6?
Opinions on going from 3 to 2
TRF...I bought a 3 watch set that includes a TTSub Blue, SD43, and YM2 SS...I’m really digging my SD43 as my daily wearer and surprisingly get tons of compliments on it.I really want a PM Rolex but I will not shell out more cash until I can buy one cash with ease. The Sky Dweller Gold on Gold is speaking to me. I love it’s many functions. Since the other two aren’t getting as much wrist time I’m thinking of selling them and getting the 18K Skydwelled...So I’d have my daily wearer in the SD43 and my big timer semi-daily/special event PM watch in the other.Thoughts?
