Crowdfunding Follow-Up
Over the past few months we here at worn&wound have featured a number of watch brand hopefuls who were using some form of crowdfunding in an effort to get themselves off the ground. This format for funding a project has exploded in the past couple of years and it is a great fit for watches projects. They target the audience that wants the product and if there is enough response, it gets made. Hopefully. Time to look back and see how the projects we have featured here have faired.Rossling & Co. – KickstarterThe idea behind Rossling & Co. was that of a simple, slim dress watch with an affordable price and a versatile design. The project was looking for a reasonable pledge range from $119 to $139 which would provide the contributor with one watch and strap. The company’s funding goal was $19,200 and they were able to successfully blow that number out of the water with an ending total of $170,002 from 1,280 backers. Definitely a job well done. Got my first AP!
AP Royal Oak Chronograph in Pink Gold on Alligator strap and AP pink gold folding clasp. Decided to go AP this time as my last 4 watches were Rolexes. I'm pretty damn happy with this one.

VC Overseas Chrono vs AP Royal Oak Chrono- My specific issues
I purchased a 42mm Royal Oak Offshore Chrono (AP 26470) just after the revised model clear case back and movement visualization. I really like the watch. I am a big chrono fan even though I do not use the chrono function all that often.. Well I decided i wanted a nice thin-- sport like chrono and I already owned the IWC 3777 pilot. I ended up getting a VC Overseas Chrono not too long ago. I like the general appearance and design of the pushers--- and it has a fairly decent water resistance rating. I would never likely purposely take it into a pool or other major water source. I had considered a Royal Oak Chronograph (AP 26320) instead of the VC but thought perhaps it would be too similar to my ROO Chrono. Nonetheless I was at a shop the other day and say a few of the Royal Oak Chronos in person (had seen them before) and said wow I forgot the contrast and clarity of the dial and sub dials on this model. Spotted Ed Sheeran wearing what looks to be a PVD/DLC coated PP in a latest music video, I personally have never come across such a thing! Apologies for the poor screen shots, would love to know what you guys think and if you've ever come across one before?

to keep my lust for gold at bay::::)))) it is my first fulll gold watch. first i wanted to get the daydate yellow gold, but now i am glad i got the 5711R. the watch has a wonderful finishing, amazing job by patek. and it wears super comfy.
