New Adjustable Clasp for Speedy Pro 3570.5
So I've been thinking about getting one of these Omega glidelock style adjustable clasps, and I've been reading online about them. Frankly, Rolex could care less if you want a glidelock clasp. Pay them their huge price, or just deal with not getting it. Omega is much simpler and more rational about it. Not having a nearly unlimited fund forces them to be responsive to their loyal customers demands. So it turns out there are 3 different adjustable clasps. They have a shorter clasp which has 3 adjustable positions. They also have two larger clasps that each have 5 adjustable positions. These clasps apparently work on many different models. However, it can get very confusing. I know more about Rolexes and which series number and bracelet goes with which model. Also, they seem to have very long model numbers. In all of my research, I never actually confirmed what specific clasp and links I would need for the 3570.5. After never figuring it out, I called Topper jewelers,
Interesting...
These are the watches with the patches on the sub-dials commemorating the various space missions (Gemini, Apollo, and Skylab). I believe it's ref. 3599.99...not 100% though. I know the 1/40 complete cases of 23 are selling for $150,000 USD plus. What about as stand-alone pieces? Any value?
Will the 690 return?
I understand the 690 was limited to 500 pieces at it’s release. Is there historical precedence that Panerai always keeps to their number? Could more be released? I know it’s a tough question, as only Panerai execs could probably answer, but its still on the website. What are your thoughts?
Pam504 Strap Idea?
I'm looking for a new strap, any ideas, quite fancy a dark tobacco croc strap, does anyone have any pics of a 504 or 505 on different straps to the original?
Current SD43 owners...
If Rolex replaces the Red Sea Dweller with White this year what do you plan to do with your watch? If this happens my assumption is the 2017 SD43 could become collectible and valuable, compared to MSRP. 1. Wear it as usual, watches are meant to be worn. 2. Box it up, lock it up for the day it's a valuable collector's watch.I'm considering my options on this. I'd like to preserve it's current nearly perfect state, but would also miss wearing it. Watches shouldn't be purchased as an investment, but some models become valuable over time. Red SD's from the 60's/70's (not sure when they were produced off the top of my head) have proven this could happen to the Red SD43. Even if it's Red for several years. Note: This is not a debate on whether this will happen. I know no one knows. I know they've never run an anniversary model for 1 year. This horse has been beaten to death, revived, then beaten to death again in plenty of other threads. Thanks for your input!
