Frdrique Constant Stars at Lake Tahoe Concours dElegance
More than 100 classic and antique boats and over 5,000 visitors gathered at one of the world's best known clear mountain lakes for the 39th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance. The event showcases the best vintage wood boats from North America, which compete for top honors in 13 classes. The overall winner was a 1939 Gar Wood. The 19 foot runabout with a 103 horsepower 6 cylinder Chrysler engine is owned by Jonathan and Jean Trevillyan of Acton, CA. The 1939 Gar Wood was awarded the best Marque Class and Best Overall Boat in Show. Frdrique Constant was honored to be the official sponsor of the 39th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance, and the winning owners were presented with the recently-introduced Frdrique Constant Runabout Moonphase & Date timepiece, pictured below. These images from the event may be enlarged with a click.
Buying Watches In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Govberg Jewelers
Welcome back to an watches-dealer original series, where we discuss important stores that sell watches all over the world. Each store we profile has an interesting story to tell about where they operate and who they sell to. Whether you buy watches from brick and mortar retailers or prefer to buy watches online, these are the stores that help shape our watch culture around the globe. There is a long list of stores to cover, but if there is a retail location in your favorite city that we simply can't miss, let us know in the comments below. Here is a map of stores we have covered so far.Where to buy watches in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania? After being in business for nearly a century (they will have their 100th anniversary next year), you would expect a traditional jeweler like Govberg Jewelers to be rooted in the past and in their hometown of Philadelphia. Yet, these heavily watch-oriented folks continually push their watch business well past the confines of their classic retail stores in
Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro Review
We've reviewed many Christopher Ward watches since we started worn&wound, but somehow we've never reviewed one of their most popular models; the C60 Trident Pro. Well, it's time to correct that. This watch is not just exceedingly popular because of its classic diver looks, it's also because it offers a tremendous value that few other watches can compete with. Swiss made, Selitta SW200 movement, 4mm thick sapphire crystal make this $535-$635, strap option depending, a great deal.Christopher Ward doesn't dance around the inspiration of the Trident line with language like "based on a certain famous watch" they go straight for it, saying that the watch takes its cues from the 1954 Rolex GMT Master. This is clearer in the C60 Trident GMT models, as they have GMT hands and a similar bezel (though the iconic "pepsi" version seems to have been discontinued). The 3-hand model we are looking at today has more similarities to the Submariner, but in both cases C Ward has done a great job of ta
Ss bracelet for diver
Hi guys & gals,I've seen so many beautiful photos of the ROO Diver with a steel bracelet on this forum however, when I ordered my diver only the rubber strap was avilable. I plan on buying the SS bracelet but I've seen a few photos on the net of the clasp not having a good closure, a little gap above the AP logo when being worn. Is there a particular reason for this or is this a typical problem with this clasp?Even though it's not the right bracelet, Here are a few examples of what i mean.I'd also love to see photos of your clasps...
Submariner Help
I think it's time I added a Submariner to my happy gathering. I've had lots of different Rolex models over the last four years but somehow never a Sub. I think it's time. I'm not going to buy it anytime soon because I'm just so torn between models. I want to take my time and try them all on at an AD. Problem is (as is well documented in several posts) there are no Hulks to try on. I'm certainly not going to pay above MSRP, so that might rule the Hulk out. But I have it down to these three:Submariner with date Hulk BluseyI know there's no wrong answer here and they are all amazing in their own right. But as much as possible I'd love some insight from the experts on here. In particular if someone's owned all three of them. If so, which one gets the most wrist time. Thanks,Mike
