The Jaquet Droz Petite Heure Minute Paillonnee For The Only Watch Auction
Jaquet Droz has released their donation to the Only Watch auction coming up on November 7, 2015. The unique piece exemplifies what Jaquet Droz is best known for by using the historical technique of paillonné enameling. 1 OF 2 The 43 mm, 18k yellow gold case features a deep red pailloné enameled dial, a technique that was handed down from the goldsmiths of the Renaissance. The motif is created by carefully placing tiny pieces of gold leaf on the dial, followed by the red Grand Feu enamel, which creates the translucent sunburst pattern and intricate trellis-work. 2 OF 2 In addition to the unique dial, the movement features a new silicon spiral, a new material used in the movement of the Petite Heure Minute, and allows for better shock resistance and pressure variations. More information on Jaquet Droz can be found on their website. Additionally, for more information on the Only Watch auction, please click here.
AP Diver... in it's element!
After reading so many of those is it safe to... regarding our watches, I wanted to know, is is safe to dive a shipwreck with a Diver?dive1.jpgdive2.jpgdive3.jpgChecking the elapsed time...dive4.jpgdive5.jpgThe answer is a resounding YES, and it is SPECTACULAR! dive6.jpgHere after the dive with my son in Cancun, Mexico. Authentic Panerai Strap advice needed
Wanted some help here.I wanted the JV strap for my 512, but they don't make it. I can have one custom from Panerai but they charge 100 over retail and then 6 weeks to make. I found something very similar and wanted to know if anything is off. It looks legit to me but want to confirm. Any help appreciated.
Made Sacrifice for this Panerai
Happy Weekend All,Just published a new story on my blog Watch Patina. It's about a first major watch purchase that happens to be a Panerai Here's an excerpt: Most people cut back on Starbucks to save up for something they want. For Marcus, it wasn't lattes that were the problem, it was all those designer labels he thought he couldn't live without. Time and time again he bought clothes as a way of compensating C subconsciously C for the missing watch in his wardrobeClick title below for full story. Possible Explorer II Price Increase
Just an FYI from a conversation I had so take it for what it's worth. Was at an AD with my BLNR and SubC this morning and chatted with the watchmaker for an hour. Well into our conversation about watches, safes, insurance, etc he mentioned he was made aware by Rolex that the Explorer II's will be getting a significant price increase soon. Possibly as early as Feb. Mind you that I was in an AD so it may have just been bait on a hook, but he was WELL aware from our conversation that I won't be purchasing another sport piece anytime soon and my next piece will be a Cellini. I think if he had just been throwing around bs to get me to walk out of there with another Rolex, he would have substituted Explorer II with Cellini because I tried on 4 different variations of it. Again, take it for what it's worth.
