Blancier Grand Cru Watch With Nespresso Capsule Dial
Eat your heart out Omega, there is a new George Clooney watch out there! Clooney might be a face for Omega timepieces, but Europeans are more likely to associate his visage with quick espressos as the man is always drinking Nespresso in their advertising. Watch maker Blancier has a new collection of watches called the Grand Cru which have dials made of used Nespresso capsules. Yea, that is about as appealing as it sounds. While most people in the United States love their coffee, Europe is all about the espresso shot - and everyone loves their Nespresso machine. It uses colorful aluminum capsules (different colors are different types of ground coffee beans or flavors) for each shot of liquid energy. Once they are used, the capsules needs to be thrown away - even though you can technically recycle them. That wasn't enough for Blancier though, they wanted to "upcycle them."Upcycling is a newer term for me, and I think some marketing douchebag probably invented it. It refers to when you mak
4th watch in 5 weeks a stunner
Aloha TRF,Well this beauty just arrived this morning. Bought it used, previous owner had same wrist size so fit like a glove. I am stoked on this Omega 41mm Vancouver Seamaster stunning red bezel. Awesome ice blue lume against the snow white dial! Super Cool See for yourself and let me know what your thought are gang! Totally stoked on KauaiAloha from Kauai.TomP.S. flash floor waring for the island of Kauai starting at noon. Guess just have to admire my most recent purchase.
My new 5167
Stopped into the AD yesterday, left with a new toy. I'd been eyeing the Aquanaut for a few months, my AD had the travel time on display. It has amazing wrist presence and the complication is so alluring. However I really wanted to try on the 5167, lower price and currently more elusive. I also admire the simplicity of the time/date. Anyway here's a wrist shot.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
advice on getting a BLNR
Hi guys!so im new to the forum, and was hoping someone could offer me some advice! I am looking to get hold of a blue/black, i have contacted a bunch of ADs around London and even other parts of the country, they all say they there is a 6 /12 month waiting list etc. I''ve read a number of the posts on here where people say that they basically only go to loyal customers of the AD or friends etc. but my problem is that this will be the first watch that I purchase so i don't have a relationship with any dealers? My question is do you have any advice for this, or am i just completely waisting my time?I'd get it second hand, but as my first ever watch i'd like it to be new, and I'd also like to save the 1.5k or so from getting it new plus the 5 year warranty and everything. Thanks for any advice!
24mm Ladies Datejust advice
My bride compared her 28mm datejust with a friend's 24mm and has her heart set on one. Sadly they are discontinued and i cannot get a straight answer from our AD. How long ago were they eliminated and is there a significant risk in buying a 10+ year old model?
