Top 10 Watches At SIHH 2014
The watches-dealer team has just returned from the 2014 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie watch trade show in Geneva - otherwise known as the SIHH. If you aren't already aware of what this show is about; it is one of a few major watch trade events each year where new products are debuted. SIHH is operated by the Richemont Group and a few other participating brands. There are about 16 brands that show there. The other major Swiss watch trade show is Baselworld that happens later in the year around March - and a lot more brands present there. SIHH is an important event and helps us understand what some of the major luxury brands are doing, and what their focus will be for this year and beyond. While we saw and photographed many new and amazing watches, there are a few that stood out as the top timepieces. These are watches that left the biggest impression on us, or that we feel are going to be successful sellers this year and beyond. A list of all the best watches
Romain Jerome Skylab Spaceage Skeleton Watch
Something quite new from Swiss Romain Jerome, here is the Skylab. The new timepiece collection with its skeletonized dial and movement is unique but thematically related to the brand's other "moon-themed" timepieces that began with the Moon Dust DNA collection (hands-on here). The Moon Dust DNA was Romain Jerome's first follow-up model to the famed Titanic DNA watch (watches-dealer review here). The Moon Dust DNA was said to contain some actual dust particles from the moon, and metal from the original Apollo XI spacecraft.Following up the Moon Dust DNA was another space-themed watch. That was the Romain Jerome Moon Invader collection (hands-on here), and the space and spacecraft theme has dominated Romain Jerome watches ever since. There was even the limited edition Romain Jerome Space Craft watch (hands-on here). Most recently Romain Jerome announced another highly-limited edition spacey watch with the impressive Moon Orbiter Tourbillon. The newest limited edition set of watches from

How comparable is an Omega Seamaster 300m to a Rolex Submariner?
I have been lurking around these forums for a few years now with my heart set on a used Rolex Submariner. I'm budgeting around $4,500, so I imagine that would get me a watch around 10 years old or so.I recently came across the Omega Seamaster 300M, and I really like the looks of it (very similar to a Submariner IMHO). I'm curious how others feel in regards to the comparisons between the two.I still like the Submariner, but I also really like the comparable looks of the Omega Seamaster 300m, and the price would allow me to buy brand new.Curious what everyone's thoughts are here, which will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sticking date on my 5127
Sadly my 5127R has developed the sticking date issue. The watch just turned 2 years (warranty expired 2 months ago since I purchased it from an AD). However, I have worn the watch only occasionally. Very frustrating. Anyone else with this experience?
