Chaumet Class One XXL Chronograph Watch Available On James List
I am a sucker for high-end fashion dive watches from brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Chaumet. Some of these are very rare, but they are usually all well-done for what they are. A high-end fashion dive watch is more or less a designer style diver from one of the big fashion brands. I am not sure who first made this concept appealing the modern sense, but credit may go to Chanel for essentially taking the theme of the Rolex Submariner and making an all ceramic watch that looks sexy and sporty at the same time.Chaumet's offering in this arena is the Class One range. Compared to some of the other high-end fashion houses the Chaumet Class One has a wide assortment of options and styles. In addition to three-hand, GMT, and chronograph models, the Class One has been offered in a large range of looks and sizes (for men and women). For me the best model is the Class One XXL that is 45mm wide and offered in steel and titanium, titanium, or in rose gold. This size has the GMT and Chronogra
Mondaine Helvetica Hands-On
Mondaine found themselves in a tricky situation. They produced and have produced for sometime one of the most iconic and easily recognizable watches on the market; the Swiss Railway Watch. The image of that dial, with its bold black markers and large red lollipop hand is synonymous with the brand, even though the design itself was from decades earlier and is still in use as the official Swiss Rail clock. The situation though doesn't have to do with that watch, it has to do with what comes next. Like a band with a great first album, how do they follow up? They couldn't meddle around with fleeting designs and fads that are forgotten a year later; no, they needed another icon.In fact, not just another icon, a Swiss icon, and they picked just about the perfect one: Helvetica. Designed in 1957 by Swiss designer Max Miedinger, Helvetica is the most used typeface (period). It's everywhere, and in the last few years has had its day in the sun thanks to the wonderfully made documentary "Helveti
New black dial 42mm, first AP
It's my first AP, good choice? :)
ROO Durability... In the "trenches"
Hey Guys,I recently purchased my first AP. It's the grey themes ROO in titanium on a titanium bracelet. I normally wear my other pieces (Panerai/Rolex/Ulysee/GP) to work (physical job) and night out (ie.Vegas/Miami/etc) without worrying if it gets scratched. My PAM actually looks like it came from pre 1950 ( I kinda like it like that/with some good patina). Wondering about how the AP will hold up? I think my PAM looks great the way it is but not sure if the AP will look good scratched up. The AP looks so great the way the bezel and case play off each other right now and don't want to ruin that. I like using my toys and wondering if others wear their watches the way I do. Thanks Guys P.S. would really appreciate if anyone would be willing to share pics of their pieces.
End of the road for Forged Carbon Diver
I mourn for this model.. According to boutique, forged carbon production will be ceased. Next will be the fc Novelty.. Apparently, ceramic will be the concentration.
