Introducing The Swatch Big Classic Collection, Casual Watches Just In Time For Spring
A few months ago we sat down with Swatch Creative Director Carlo Giordanetti?to get an inside look at the history of Swatch, its relationship to the art world, and the spring/summer 2014 collections. Today we're focusing on the Big Classic collection, a set of seven new watches that offer a more conservative take on Swatch's directional styles. To celebrate, Swatch has even opened a temporary concept store in London's famous Harrods department store.? 2 OF 4 The Big Classic collection starts with Swatch's 41mm stainless steel "Irony" case, meaning the watches are slightly larger and more robust feeling than the more typically-seen plastic Swatches. From there, there are a few different dial, bezel and bracelet styles. You can go with a simple black dial with the date down at 6 o'clock, a thin bezel, and a black crocodile-embossed leather strap with deployant buckle, or you can select a pilot-inspired variation with broad hands and a wider, graduated bezel. There is also a
Ladies Speedmaster
I ran into this watch surfing the net, and my heart went a pitter-patter! Drool..omegawatches/ladies/s...32433384004001 Even after searching a long time on the net, I couldn't find a whole lot of info on the ladies speedmaster, other than the BaselWorld 2010 press releases. For example, I couldn't find anyone from a forum who bought it with feedback, wrist shots, nor could I find anywhere the msrp? Are they selling well? (As far as I understood production on a ladies version begain in 2010). I wonder if the model I'm interested in is hard to find...Anyone own this or seen one up close? Please share any feedback you may have. I'm really considering this as a next purchase. The model I like is the one in the photo: model # 324.33.38.40.04.001.Thanks!!
Complications please!
Lets see some wrist pics!
The Officine Panerai Logo..the True meaning by Eng. Mario Paci
The Logo OP represents the stylised beginning letters O and P of Officine Panerai name, but not only.Do you know which is the meaning of the two arrows, one towards up and one toward down? It’s very simple and intuitive. Officine Panerai, since the origins and up today, has been always specialist in manufacturing underwater products and landing aid systems. The firsts (wrist watches, compasses, depth-meters, tank level probes, mechanical timers for underwater mines and many others) were used under the sea.The seconds (Deck landing systems, Helipad lighting systems, Portable landing systems) were used on surface, for those arriving from the sky.The meaning of the two arrows: the one toward down shows the underwater products, the one toward up shows the products for who arrives from the sky.The OP Logo was born at the beginning of years ’80, designed by an Architectural Office of Florence and, in the first drafts, had a rounded form; Eng. It's been a lot of fun being a member of this great forum. I've certainly learned a lot. I flipped a bunch in the beginning, but have finally settled into a small collection that I really like. I've had the Explorer, Explorer 2 (black) and Milgauss (white) two times each. The Explorer 2 and the Milgauss (along with an Omega Railmaster) are now the base of my collection. I've bought from dealers on TRF as well as my local AD. I've developed great relationships with both. I definitely like watches and brands I absolutely didn't like 4 years ago. I didn't like two-tone anything, now I absolutely love them. I didn't understand the appeal of brands like Panerai and JLC, now I can't wait to try these brands. My biggest take away has been to really take my time before pulling the trigger. I am all over the map as far as what to get next. As of today I think a TT bluesy or Daytona, but that could just as easily be a classic Submariner or a Panerai. Getting a 31mm OP for my wife was
