Baume & Mercier Clifton Chronograph Watches For 2014
When a brand such as Baume & Mercier says they're digging into their archives for new watches, you can't be quite sure what you might see. As one of the seven oldest watch brands, they've got quite an assortment of inspiration to draw from. This latest batch of vintage-inspired pieces will expand the Clifton collection that we saw introduced earlier this year.Drawing from what's labeled as the "golden era" of the 1950s, these new automatic Clifton chronographs will be formally introduced at SIHH in January. Intrinsically, the three are mechanically the same - 43mm stainless steel case, ETA 7750 movement (decorated and visible through the case back), sapphire crystals, and a 50m WR rating, to mention some of the highlights. Where the three models differentiate themselves then, is in the styling. The Clifton 10129 (pictured up top) is marked as being the most vintage-looking of the collection, with gold tone hands and indices on a silver sunburst dial paired with a brown alligator str
Bring a Loupe: Two Oversized Vacherons, One Very Slim Piaget, And One Promising Chronograph From Lon
This week's Bring A Loupe will feature an early Autavia chronograph from Heuer, and reveal another from Longines – a true eBay find in all its glory, horrendous pictures included. We will also look into watches with some very special dimensions, starting with the first ultra-thin Piaget with automatic movement, and then examining two incredible Vacheron Constantins, both with oversized cases in pink gold. This is your Bring A Loupe for November 6, 2015. An Early Heuer Autavia Reference 2446 Second Generation 1 OF 11 Two weeks ago we covered in depth an early Autavia that ultimately fetched $45,000 on eBay and today it kind of starts over. Well, this Autavia is not as rare, as it is the second execution of the reference 2446 with screw-back case. In comparison to the first execution that we had spotted earlier, the difference is minute, but for a Heuer aficionado it means a lot: the hands are not full lume anymore, you can see their frame here. Unfortunate
Is AP planning on making the 15305or in a 41mm case ?
I have been eyeing the 15305or as my first major watch purchase, however i was told by someone that AP is planning on making this same watch in a 41mm. Is this true ? if so when are they planning on releasing it?
First AP, which royal oak?
I am planning to acquire my first AP. I have relatively smaller wrists at 6.5 but can pull off a 42mm royal oak. I think a 39mm would also look good. 42 off shores are a little big for my taste. I have a white 16520 Daytona so I'm looking for a dark dial. What would you recommend I buy? A 42mm Chrono, or non Chrono or a 39mm? Or jumbo? I found a nice blue 15202 but the price is not far from a 42mm royal oak. What is the difference and what would be my best option? Thanks!
