Want To Help Japan? Buy A Watch
In case you haven't heard, Japan isn't doing so well right now after being battered by the massive earthquake and ensuing disasters. Japan and the Japanese people are going to need a lot of help for the next few years, at least. They haven't had so much to recover from since the end of WWII - while most countries never have an event like this to recover from. You can do a lot to help, including buying watches from Japanese watch brands to help the country's economy. While they aren't the only Japanese watch brands, Seiko, Citizen, and Casio are all business that you'll want to support right now - and it helps that they make really good watches. If you aren't in the market for a new timepiece right now but still want to help , then there are a lot of good charities and organizations that you can donate to.Having traveled to Japan a few times, my thoughts and earnest hope for speedy recovery goes to the people I know there along with their friends, family, and coworkers.
Strap sizes
The rubber strap that came with my ROOC 44 is about 1 notch too big, so I could ideally do with getting a replacementI have girlie wrists measuring in at 6.75inchDoes anyone know;1) I believe straps come in 3 sizes, is the 'small', strap the best for for this size / anyone know dimensions?2) how easy is it to change straps? Is it One for the jeweller?3) best place to buy one in the UK, I heard the RRP is 300! So any pointers for discount wild be much appreciatedMany thanks :)
Panerai in London
Is there a Panerai Boutique or anyone knows a good dealer in London?
Is there a Daytona SS shortage of supply from Rolex now?
I am guessing that a month or two prior to and up through Christmas that Rolex churns out extra supply of Rolex's including the Daytona. Right now it seems no one is offering a BNIB 116500LN Daytona. Is the next big supply coming toward Father's Day or maybe even Valentine's Day?I do understand supply and demand. Prices just keep going up. I may just opt to buy a 18K white gold Daytona as it seems to be a better value than the ridiculous pricing now for the SS models. It's also interesting how tastes have changed. Seems no one wants to be caught dead wearing a yellow 18K gold Daytona -- although the pricing seems indicative of a buyer's market.
