Swatch Sistem51 $150 Mechanical Watch To Make Its Debut In The US Soon
The Swatch Sistem51 was announced at Baselworld 2013, and as a true?revolutionary concept should,?it moved?just about any and?all watch enthusiasts on this planet. It amazed with its?futuristic, fully mechanical movement that contains only 51 parts and is fully assembled by robots from start to finish. By contrast, it upset us with its extremely limited availability mainly restricted to Switzerland. With early July, that is bound to change, however, as the Swatch Sistem51?hits the US market, first in two pop-up stores in New York and San Francisco. We see?just about all truly innovative?watches debut cursed with two key issues: their often stupendous price?premium and an?overly limited availability. With the Swatch Sistem51 and its more than competitive?150 Swiss franc price point, the former has always been?out of the equation, while the problem linked to its availability has remained. It has been more than?a year now that?Swatch announced the watch at Baselworld 2013, and yet it took?

Anyone khow a ballpark figure on what these go for? And where to get them.
Finally, a second watch (the process)
I purchased a white Explorer II (16570) back in 2010. It's a watch I love and wear daily. I finally got an itch (and the means) to add a second watch to my collection. After doing some preliminary research simply based on aesthetics and a very general sense of pricing, I had it narrowed down to AP Royal Oak, VC Overseas, IWC Portuguese 7 days or Habring2 Doppel 3.I then researched the specific models more closely. I quickly found that the AP and VC models I was interested in were above my budget (not altogether unexpected). I quickly realized the IWC 7 days that I really wanted was the rose gold with grey dial; again, above my budget. That left me with the Doppel 3. It fit my budget and I liked the grey dial model. BUT, the only place I could source one was not expecting a grey Doppel 3 until May 2016. I was extremely close to putting a deposit down on it and waiting it out, but I decided to hit the non-Rolex sales forum one last time to see if I could find anything that caught my eye
Panerai 48?
Hey guys, a buddy of mine is looking for a college graduation watch. He wants it to be BNIB and has a price range of right around $5-7k. He is really interested in some Panerai models but he prefers the smaller case size, and it needs to have the hours, minutes, seconds and a date. In that price range the best watch I've found is the PAM 48 which is essentially the 40mm version of the 104. 2 questions. One, are there any other recommendations you may make for him, doesn't necessarily need to be Panerai, remembering that the price has to be for a BNIB. 2. What is the real price for a PAM 48? I know it retails right around $7400 but it isn't a terribly popular model to my knowledge so I'm not sure what kind of deal I could find. Thanks in advance!
