Parmigiani Celebrates Brazil Soccer with New CBF Watch Collections
When Brazil’s CBF soccer team defeated reigning world champ Spain 3-0 in the Confederation Cup final on June 30, they had at least one Swiss watch company in their cheering section: Parmigiani Fleurier, which became the team’s official watch partner in 2011. At this year’s SIHH, Parmigiani introduced four new watches in two collections inspired by the team and the nation of Brazil. The new watches honoring the CBF (Confedera??o Brasileira de Futebol) include two men’s models and one ladies’ model, both chronographs, in Parmigiani’s sporty Pershing collection; and two pieces in the brand’s versatile Transforma collection, which debuted in 2011: a chronograph and a retrograde annual calendar. The men’s watch, the Pershing Chronograph 005 CBF, comes in a 45-mm titanium case with a choice of either a titanium, rose gold or white gold bezel. The CBF team colors, which reflect the colors of Brazil’s flag, are evident in the design: blue for
Two New Panerai Equation Of Time Special Edition Watches For SIHH 2015
Every year, Paneristis wait with bated breath when SIHH comes around to see what new special edition watches Panerai will release. Last year's standout special edition pieces were arguably the series of Radiomir 1940 chronographs (hands-on here) rendered in various precious metals, featuring a handwound movement based on the venerable Minerva caliber 13-22; also, the Radiomir 1940 3 Days Marina Militare Acciaio, which is a homage to the vintage Reference 6152 from the 1940s.This year,?the standout pieces thus far are the Panerai Radiomir 1940 Equation of Time 8 Days Acciaio and the Panerai Luminor 1950 Equation of Time 8 Days Acciaio. The equation of time complication is rarely seen on Panerai watches, and I believe the last Panerai watch to feature it was the Panerai L'Astronomo or PAM 365 from 2010. For those unfamiliar with this complication, it shows the difference between true or apparent solar time and mean solar time. This is because the length of a day is only exactly 24
Navitimer?
So is the Navitimer a watch designed for navigation, or is it a watch designed for Navy servicemen? The watch is quite often found with a 'navy' blue dial but I don't know what it is like as far as water resistant properties are concerned?
My relatively new PO died :(
Well I bought my PO from a local AD less than a year ago and something has gone wrong with the winding mechanism.I wear this watch at least 4 days a week at work and usually it will stop on my days of as my PAM 312 gets all the love.I noticed a couple weeks ago it seemed to be stopping within a day of being taken off. Then a few days ago it would no longer stay on through the night after being worn all day.Now it will wind, but it starts and stops sporadically and the crown will slightly roll back the other direction after being wound.I've sent it in for warranty service, but my dealer says it's a 4-6 week turnaround. Any idea what's wrong? I'm just curious as I won't know for almost two months what happened to it :(It's a 2201.5 I think.
Portofino
Hey everyone!Has anyone been to the Florence Italy boutique? Ill be there in 3 weeks and wanted to see if anyone had anything to say about it... Ill hopefully be picking up my first Panerai (PAM000) and a few straps. So I was wondering what to maybe expect going straight to the PAM motherland instead of an AD or US boutique. Think they would offer any discount to get the ''tourist'' to buy a watch?Or perhaps a multi watch deal? (if the price is right a friend of mine might have me pick up one for him also)thanks everyone.
