4 Limited-Edition Watches Celebrate China’s Year of the Horse
January 31 marked the start of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Horse. Since the huge growth in demand for luxury watches in the Asian market, several top watch brands have commemorated the lunar New Year with limited-edition timepieces. We’ve already shown you Jaquet Droz’s Ateliers d’Art Horse watches; here are four more from three other luxury brands.The recently revitalized Arnold & Son brand has released a limited edition of 28 pairs of watches celebrating the Year of the Horse, with black or white lacquered dials that feature hand-finished miniature paintings of charging horse, inspired by those depicted in traditional Chinese ink-wash paintings. One of the watches’ dials features a black and a gray horse on a white lacquer background and the other a white and a gray horse on a black background. The past few years have seen steady growth in the diameter of men's watches. In the 1950s, a dress watch was expected to be slim and small, the normal size being somewhere between 32 and 35mm wide. These days, anything less than 38mm is considered dainty, and even 50mm and beyond isn't unheard of.However, not everyone wants such a large watch, or for that matter, the bold styling that often accompanies it. These more traditional men seem to be the target market for Seiko's recently introduced line of four mechanical dress watches, all with classic styling and very conservative 36mm cases. Went to the Omega Boutique.... wow!
I gotta say... the boutiques are quite nice, but the new watches are even better.First time I placed on the new PO in 42 and 45.5.... WOW. Impressive timepiece! I'd like to get one and add to my collection, but the price jumped quite a bit since the older PO. $6200.... kind of a lot. I don't even know what the purpose of this post is, but I guess I just had to let someone know that I am beginning to dig the new POs quite a bit.

New policy to remove the films by Rolex AD
Since July first this year, when you purchase a new Rolex from ADs in Japan, along with the nice green box, green tag and manual you will also receive this message from Rolex Japan telling that if Rolex finds out you are a flipper or tenbai in Japanese term, your name will be blacklisted and Rolex Japan will not sell watches to that individual. Is this happening in other countries as well? The ADs also size your new Rolex as they take off the protection films to avoid being sold to grey dealers.
