MKII Nassau Review
MKII is a bit of an anomaly in the watch world. Their watches are immediate cult favorites, they base their designs largely if not entirely on classic designs from military and tool watches from the 50's, 60's and 70's and they are basically a company of one. MKII is the project of Bill Yao, a perfectionist with an eye for the details and obsessive dedication to quality and execution. In hand, a MKII has the feel of a watch worth much more. These are not just dials and movements and cases put together and sold, each piece is carefully designed, assembled, examined and tested. They are all built with top quality components, and though their prices reflect this all, they are not outrageously priced.Case: 316L SteelMovement: ETA 2836-2Dial: BlackLume: YesLens: SapphireStrap: BraceletWater Res.: 200mDimensions: 39.2 x 47.95mmThickness: 14.5 mmLug Width: 20 mmCrown: 7 x 4 mm screw downWeight: 144g on bracelet (our measure)Warranty: yesPrice: $895.00MKII's most recent release, the Nassau, is
What's new from Lm-Tec for 2013
Lm-Tec?has put a page up on their website showing off the new models they have coming for 2013, and there are some very cool looking watches coming down the pike.First off is the very cool no-nonsense Abyss 600M. There is a lot to like about the looks of this piece. Large hands, oversized numerals, big crown; it just oozes cool. By the name one can tell the water resistance rating: 600M. The watch clocks in at 48mm with 24mm lugs and is powered by the Citizen Miyota 9015 movement. There are four variations in dials and cases and each is limited to a run of 150. Pre-order price right now is between $675 and $702 depending on the model. These prices will all go up by about $124 when they are generally released. Save some cash and jump on one now.Next up are some new looks for the 300M diver series. There will be two new dial lume colors with each in two sizes, 40mm and the XL 45mm. Each size will have a stainless watch with blue lumed markers and a PVD with orange markers. Any of the fo
AD Discount for ROO 44mm
I am thinking of buying my first AP. Very drawn to the ROO 44mm. I am in California and wondering what a reasonable discount would be for a new one from an AD. Thank you in advance.Chris

Visit of Wempe boutique Paris
I just came back from the Wempe boutique in Paris, and saw a few pieces from ALS and Patek, I won't talk about them all but just about the 2 most interesting IMO from the ones which were there, the ALS Datograph and the PP 5980-1AR, so starting with the PP, the dial is a beauty, if it was available in SS it might be a model that I might consider one day if I decided to get another PP, but in TT not really. But to be honest between the TT 5980 and my 5712 I prefer much more mine. Now for the really interesting one, the Datograph perpetual in platinum, it was the first time I saw ALS pieces, the movement, the dial, the finition and attention to details are just great, I understand now why so many here consider that ALS and PP are on practically the same level in terms of quality and beauty.Of course there were other ALS, the Zeitwerk for example, nice piece, original, but for me a little overpriced for what it is, the other ALS models were very basic and while nice were not very appealing
